What can we work on together?

There are some issues that are specifically for individual work and some are specifically for couples/partners work - and sometimes, both.

My Approach

Regardless of the issue we are working on in session, or the therapy modality I'm using, my approach to therapy includes feminist theory, anti-capitalism, and anti-racist ideals. I provide LGBTQIA+ affirming care, relational structure affirming care (including relationship anarchy and polyamory) as well as faith-affirming care, regardless of your religious or spiritual beliefs.

Trauma Therapy

Trauma therapy offers a compassionate and structured approach to healing deep emotional wounds caused by various types of trauma, including religious trauma, sexual abuse, childhood trauma, and experiences involving high control dynamics. The goal of trauma therapy is to help clients process and integrate distressing memories and emotions in a safe environment, ultimately promoting healing and resilience.

trauma therapy empowers clients to process their experiences, reclaim their sense of self, and cultivate a more balanced and fulfilling life. By integrating modalities like EMDR, parts work, and DBT, I can effectively support clients on their journey towards healing and resilience after trauma.

Areas of experience:

  • sexual abuse (childhood and adult)

  • religious trauma/spiritual abuse

  • high control dynamics

  • medical trauma and gaslighting

Sex Therapy

Sex therapy covers a broad range of topics and as a certified sex therapist, I have training and experience to handle many different issues. I provide a safe and non-judgmental space for individuals or couples to explore and resolve concerns that may be impacting their sexual satisfaction and overall well-being.

Some areas of experience include:

  • Anxiety/Shame blocks

  • Sexual exploration and Endhancement

  • Kink exploration or kink-related issues

  • Mismatched desire in relationships (also known as desire discrepancy)

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy can be an incredible experience for people who are facing a variety of life struggles. In individual therapy, we explore your experiences, thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Sometimes we find patterns and look at how they are hindering or helping you in creating the life you want. My approach is tailored to the individual client so that we can find what tools work for you, and how you can best live your life according to your personal values.

Some areas that clients work on individual therapy:

  • Anxiety/Depression

  • Life transitions (i.e. divorce, career change)

  • Grief and loss

  • Self-Identity, Confidence, Self-esteem Issues

  • Boundary Issues/Codependency/People pleasing

  • Goals and Growth

Relationship therapy can be incredibly helpful if your relationship is struggling. I create a collaborative approach when I'm working with relationships, whether it's a married couple, a polyamorous dynamic, or adult family members. In relationship therapy, we work together to create a space where each person can share their perspectives and feelings while being supported and we work to enhance the relationship to work towards a shared vision of the future. In relationship therapy, bonds are strengthened, communication is enhanced, understanding is deepened. We work to cultivate a relationship that is resilient, fulfilling, and mutually supportive.

Some issues addressed in relationship therapy:

  • Improve Communication (i.e. be able to express needs, wants, desires)

  • Resolve Conflict

  • Increase emotional intimacy

  • Life Transitions (parenting, career change, etc)

  • Exploring individual needs and goals within the context of a share future
